Outreach..

Hey, so we just found out today where we will be going for our outreach! We are both going to Serbia! Our team is great and we are both really looking forward to it. We will be building relationships with University students who are trying to learn more English. We are told that the people from Serbia think that everyone from the States/Canada has a beautiful singing voice and they will be expecting us to sing to them. So for all who have heard us sing, you know that they are in for a treat, haha. Everyone here got their first choice, which is really cool. It was so great to see where everyone was placed. I know coming into this we were both pretty sure that we would be staying in Ireland, but it was interesting to see how our hearts were changed. So this is pretty cool and we wanted to let you all know.

First Week

We have just had one full week here and it has been pretty good. The couple of days that we had for team building was interesting. There isn't too much to say about that, we did things like building a raft, zip line, ropes course, sharing life stories and that kind of stuff. We are getting to know people pretty well already and for the most part they are all normal.
We found out what we will be doing for our local outreach and we both got the same one. We are doing what is called the hangout and we pretty much go around Banbridge on Saturday for a few hours and hangout with teens at coffee shops and get to know them. That will be starting next week and we look forward to it. We also got assigned work duties, Al is in the kitchen four days a week and I am on the hospitality team with two other girls. The hospitality team takes care of the guest speakers, cleaning their room, baking them goodies, making them cards and whatever else we can do to make them feel welcomed.
Yesterday we spent the day at Belfast, which was a lot of fun. We went with our friend Korina and met up with our friend from England. It was a great day, we walked around a lot, had a beer and watched the soccer game. It was the life!
During the week we had an Irish history lesson, we got attacked by birds, I got electrocuted, and all is great! In terms of school schedule, we have to keep weekly journals that will consist of different assignments, we have book reports to do and we will have lectures daily. So all that combined with our local outreach and school duties will keep us pretty busy.

And We're Here!

We are finally here everyone and it is gorgeous! Al and I had smooth travels and it has been a great couple of days. We were pretty jet legged when we arrived, but are doing fine now. We have the best view of the Mourne Mountains and they are unbelievable, so unreal. The place where we are staying is very small and old, but nice. Yesterday we spent the time getting to know everyone and they are great. There is another girl from Canada, a girl from Australia, a girl from Holland, a girl form Northern Ireland and then the rest are pretty much from around the States. There are only seventeen of us (fourteen of us being girls.) We knew that the girls were probably going to out number the guys, but we had no idea that it would be by this much. Today was the first day of our schooling and it was pretty much an introduction to the school and the weeks ahead, looks like they are going to be great. A bunch of us just got back from a lovely walk along the country roads and it was beautiful. It is true, the Irish are so nice! Everyone waves and says hi when they pass you by. A lady has already invited Al and I over for tea, and we will definitely be taking her up on the offer. Tomorrow we are leaving to do some team building (who knows what that will entail), we will be traveling about twelve miles from here to stay in chalets for two nights. It should be good! Also during this week we are to take a lot of time to pray and ask God where he wants us to go for our outreach. The choices are China, Serbia or Ireland, so if anyone wants to be praying for us in regards to this it would be greatly appreciated. I know our parents are rooting for Ireland, haha but who knows what will happen. We will try to take many pictures for you all and will be posting at least once a week. We just wanted to say farewell friends and a thank you to all of you for your love and support through all of this. You guys have been such a great encouragement and have been way too good to us. We will miss you all very much, but are excited to grow (spiritually, not physically) and to serve God wholeheartedly. We will write about our arrival and post pictures once we get a chance. Thanks again and we love you all!
